JANUARY 23rd, 2008 - Luncheon Speaker Series Event - Temple Israel, 112 East 75th Street, "Affirming Parenthood: Reducing Teens' Experimentation with Alcohol, Drugs and Sex." Speaker: Reverend Debra W. Haffner, author of "Beyond the Big Talk" and "From Diapers to Dating."
FEBRUARY 4th, 2008 - Seminar - Teen Scene XXII Trinity School, 139 West 91st Street, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Co-sponsored with the Parents League. Come hear what teens are really thinking about. It might surprise you.
APRIL 17th, 2008 - Seminar - Dr. Mel Levine "The Essence of Adolescence" - 92nd Street Y, 1395 Lexington Avenue, Co-sponsored with Mount Sinai Children's Center Foundation. 9 - 11 a.m. Dr. Levine will speak about the critical brain changes that occur in and around early adolescence. Our speakers are well respected child psychologists, physicians and educators. This program is free of charge, thanks to the generosity of our donors. Access Shopping events are held throughout the year, featuring designers who generously contribute 10 percent of proceeds to NYC-Parents in Action. Our spring event will be held in April or May.
